It’s time to tell the truth! July 7 was national Tell the Truth Day. In celebration of this once-a-year moment, we wanted to share with you 10 Art Facts!
When talking to students, administrators, other parents, or anyone else — these data-driven quick tips of information will enable art advocates to explain the TRUTH about arts in education.

- Fact: 93% of Americans believe that the arts are vital to providing a well-rounded education.

- Fact: Students with band and orchestra experience attend college at a rate twice the national average.

- Fact: 83% of Americans believe that arts education helps teach to communicate effectively with adults and peers. Students with high arts involvement are 4x more likely to be recognized for academic achievement.

- Fact: 73% of Americans agree that teens who play an instrument are less likely to have discipline problems.

- Fact: 62% of Americans agree that the arts “helps me understand other cultures better.”

- 9 out of 10 adults and teenagers who play instruments agree that music making brings the family closer together.
